Updated Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 could get LED light package; receives revised seat ensuring more comfort

Bajaj is working on updated Avenger and the bike is expected to launch this month only. Ahead of its arrival in showrooms, a camouflaged test mule of the 2018 Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 has been spotted testing in the country. In order to make the bike more appealing Bajaj has certainly added several changes to this model.

2018 Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 is expected to come sporting an LED daytime running light integrated to the headlamp and there will be LED taillight as well. However, the turn indicators are unlikely to receive LED treatment. A single pod instrument cluster is there visible in the test mule and it could come with a full LED display.

The large and fatty fuel tank gets a digital display on it with slight design change. This bike gets revised seat in order to ensure more comfort for the rider and pillion rider as well, while the grab rail appears same as the present model. Apart from these minor changes, the updated Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 is likely to be same as the current model.

On the powertrain front, Bajaj Avenger 220 will come with the same 220 cc single-cylinder engine that gets oil-cooling technology. Power and torque output too will remain same as the present Avenger Cruise 200. The engine is coupled with a 5-speed gearbox and it is capable of churning out 19.03 PS of peak power at 8,400 rpm and 17.50 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm.

We can assume the updated Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 will come returning improved fuel efficiency than the present model. On the braking and suspension front too, the bike remains unchanged. For braking duty, it relies on a front disc brake and a rear drum brake. However, introduction of a single channel ABS could be a possibility to enhance its appeal further.

For suspension duty, 2018 Bajaj Avenger Cruise 20 will rely on telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers. Speaking about its pricing, current Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 comes available at Rs. 89,690 (ex-showroom, New Delhi) and the updated model is expected to be slightly premium mover that.
