The 2018 Yamaha YZF-R3 gets dual channel ABS and Metzeler M5 tyres; bookings open from today onwards across India
Yamaha India removed the highly-popular YZF-R3 super sports motorcycle from its domestic website last year ahead of the introduction of the BS4 emission norms. It fuelled the rumour that it could have been taken off for several months and it turned out to be the truth.
The Japanese auto giant has now brought back the motorcycle with latest emission compliance but with little changes elsewhere and is displayed at the ongoing 2018 Auto Expo in Greater Noida. Here is everything you need to know about the updated 2018 Yamaha YZF-R3:
2018 Yamaha YZF-R3 BS4 Exterior Design and Features
In spite of being a likeable bike in its segment, the R3 could not be sold in India for several months because it was not converted to comply with BS-IV emission regs. The official web page will be reinstated with the R3 when the BS-IV compliant vehicle goes on sale. The new R3 comprises of other updates as well including revised body graphics and mandatory AHO (Auto Headlamp-On) feature.

The 2018 Yamaha YZF-R3 continues to churn out 42 PS of maximum power output at 10,750 rpm and nearly 30 Nm of peak torque at 9,000 rpm. It uses the same 321 cc liquid-cooled four-stroke inline-twin engine connected to a six-speed gearbox sending power to the wheel.
The big news is Yamaha has included ABS which has been craved for so long by potential customers. It is a must-have inclusion considering that the top-selling KTM RC390 that was updated early last year with addition of many features.
