2018 Audi RS4 Avant is slightly faster than Mercedes-AMG C63 Estate; priced from €79,800 (Rs. 61.22 lakh) in Germany
Audi has unveiled the all-new RS4 Avant at Frankfurt Motor Show. The new generation Audi RS4 Avant arrives as slightly faster (0.1 second) than the Mercedes-AMG C63 Estate. The German luxury automaker has updated the design of this performance focused estate along with the updated powertrain as well. The automaker will start receiving booking for the car soon and it will be priced from €79,800 (Rs. 61.22 lakh) in Germany upon launch.
Being a performance focused car, the engine under the hood of 2018 Audi RS4 Avant’s grabs the most attention of the enthusiasts. It takes power from a 2.9-litre TFSI biturbo V6 engine capable of churning out 450 PS of peak power and 600 Nm of peak torque. The engine is coupled with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and power is sent to all the four wheels through Audi’s famous Quattro AWD system.

Speaking about the 2018 Audi RS4 Avant’s performance, it can accelerate to 100 kmp[h from standstill position in just 4.1 seconds and it has top speed of 250 kmph. The top speed can be increased up to 280 kmph by using the optional RS Dynamic package offered by the German premium luxury carmaker. Apart from that, this estate is capable of returning 11.36 kmpl of average fuel efficiency. Audi says the fuel efficiency in the 2018 RS4 Avant has been increased by 17% compared to the predecessor, thanks to the 80 kg weight reduction.
Speaking about the all-new fourth generation Audi RS4 Avant’s design, it features large hexagonal black front grille with aggressive mesh pattern flanked with sharp Matrix LED headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights. Apart from that, there are large air dams at both ends with bold black mesh, carbon fibre splitter. It gets 19-inch and 20-inch wheel options with new design.

The Nogaro Blue exterior paint scheme enhances its appeal further. The rear profile of the wagon boasts sharp LED taillights, RS diffuser insert with twin oval tailpipes. Interior of the car features leather wrapped flat-bottom sporty steering wheel, RS-spec display at Audi virtual cockpit, a head-up touchscreen infotainment system along with improved quality seat and upholstery materials.
