Yamaha R15 is certainly a pretty popular sporty bike in India, which comes as one of the most affordable sportsbike in the country. The R15 is all set to get an update shortly, and ahead of that Moto Blast has published a rendered image of the R15 V3.0, which gives us the hint, that the upcoming version of R15 will look much sharper and sportier.

The next generation Yamaha R15 V3.0 comes taking design cues from YZF-R125 and YZF-R6. earlier, the model received update in 2011, and it was christened as YZF-R15.V2.0, and the last updated being happened half a decade ago, the model is due for a change now. The new model could don an entire new colour theme and cosmetic updates as well, while the engine too could come more refined.

The model was spied at a dealership in Indonesia, and the fully faired model sports features like new sharp dual LED headlamps, new body panels. Apart from that the Yamaha R15 V3.0 also gets sharp looking turn indicators, and digital instrument cluster giving it a premium touch. The updated model also comes with lowered pillion seat, offering the pillion rider a more comfortable seating experience.

So far, the updated model looks more muscular and sharper with the new design tweaks. It could don a new racing blue colour with grey, white and red combinations. The exhaust also expected to come revised looking, while the front wheel sports upside down forks. The taillights also could get a fully LED appearance, and the alloy wheels could don a red strip.

The Yamaha R15 V3.0 will take power from the same 149 cc single cylinder liquid cooled engine mated to a six speed transmission, but the engine would come delivering extra power output and torque output. The outgoing model churns out 16.7 bhp of peak power at 8,500 rpm and 15 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. Expect the updated model to launch sometime in 2017 in India.
