Yamaha has a strong customer base in the country, which the company is aiming to increase further. In an attempt to do so, the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer is focusing on bringing premium and sportier models.
Few months back, it launched the FZ25 in the domestic market and right after the launch Yamaha cleared that it would be bringing a semi faired version of the bike here and it has been christened as the Fazer 25.
The sporty quarter litre bike has been launched today amidst much speculations. It will compete against rivals like Bajaj Pulsar RS 200, KTM RC 200 and Honda CBR 250R.
It gets new set of mirrors as opposed to what has been seen in the FZ25 and a single headlamp unit in contrast to the dual setup in the 150cc Fazer. The wind blast protector, LED headlamp, LED taillamp and similar instrumentation as the FZ25 are some of the other features. Now, as the sporty semi-faired bike officially arrived, let us take a look at the facts of the Yamaha Fazer 250.

2017 Yamaha Fazer 25 Design
The Yamaha Fazer 25 takes several design elements with the FZ25. It sports a crafted looking LED headlamp. Apart from that, there will be a fully digital instrument cluster with a LCD display and the fuel tank gets a chunky and very muscular appearance. The seat will offer the rider a comfortable riding position and with ergonomic design, it will give the rider better control over the machine.
The semi-fairing gives the Fazer 25 a very muscular and sporty appearance, while the engine unit is exposed with a different colour for engine cowl. A narrow tail section with split LED taillight will enhance this quarter-litre bike’s visual appeal, while the compact looking exhaust will sport a chunky and muscular style just like the naked FZ25. Apart from the FZ25, the new bike shares some design elements with Fazer 150 as well.
The tail section, foot pegs, exhaust, rear tyre and saree guard have been borrowed from the naked FZ25. Subtle air inlets sit on both sides of the headlamp while the LED pilot lamps connects the headlamp with the rather busy fairing. The fairing extends to the top making a sure case for sports touring by reducing wind noise and buffeting while the indicators too are mounted on it.

Power source for the all-new Yamaha Fazer 25 will be the same 249 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled SOHC fuel-injected engine with Blue Core technology that works in the FZ25. This engine is coupled with a 5-speed constant mesh transmission and kicks out 20.30 bhp of peak power at 8,000 rpm and 20 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The semi-faired sporty bike could come with an oil cooling assistant as well.
Suspension duty in the bike is expected to be done by the same setup as the FZ25. In that case, it will get telescopic front fork and swingarm monocross suspension at rear. For braking duty, the bike gets disc brakes at both ends with front wheel equipped with a 282 mm disc brake rear getting a 220 mm disc brake. The FZ25 doesn’t get ABS, not even as option also. We hope the semi-faired model gets ABS, which will certainly enhance its appeal further and the bike will weigh above 150 kilograms.
