British luxury automaker Jaguar’s first-ever SUV F-Pace has won the award of ‘2017 World Car of the Year’ and ‘World Car Design of the Year’ at the ongoing New York International Motor Show. In the way to become the ‘World Car of the Year’ the British luxury SUV, which is the fastest selling jaguar vehicle, has beaten the German rivals like Audi Q5 and Volkswagen Tiguan.
A total of 23 cars were competing for the title and very interestingly, all three finalists were the SUVs. This certainly indicates towards the growing popularity and demand of the SUVs and crossovers across the world. Another interesting fact is that the automakers are showing keen interest towards producing SUVs, even those brands which were not known for making SUVs before. Some of the examples are the Jaguar F-Pace, Maserati Levante, Bentley Bentayga etc.
