2017 TVS Star City Plus comes with BS4 compliant engine and Auto Headlamp Function; available in 11 different colour options

TVS Motors has launched the updated 2017 Star City Plus commuter motorcycle in India at Rs. 44,990 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). It comes complying with the new emission and safety norm as, the motorcycle gets updated BS-IV compliant engine along with Auto Headlamp On technology. TVS is upgrading its entire product line-up with BS-IV engines and AHO and Star City Plus comes as the latest in the list.

The Hosur-based two-wheeler manufacturer has already updated the models like Apache RTR 160, Apache RTR 180, Victor, Sport, Zest and Scooty Pep Plus with BS-IV engine and AHO. The Star City Plus comes positioned in the most competitive and bestselling segment of Indian motorcycle market, 100 cc – 110 cc segment. It is available in 11 different colour options, which are – Black Gold, White Gold, Black Blue, Black Silver, Chocolate Gold, Matte Grey, Oscar Black, Titanium Grey, Show-stopper Blue, Spotlight White and Celebrity Scarlet.

The overall silhouette of the Star City Plus remains same. It comes equipped with a powerful headlamp, a small visor, a combo instrument cluster with analog dial and digital display. The digital display works as fuel meter there is a service reminder as well. The econometer helps the rider to achieve desired fuel efficiency.

It comes with a 10-litre capacity fuel tank, while the long seat offers comfortable riding experience. For convenience of pillion rider, the motorcycle gets a plain grab rail and there is a sleek taillight. The machinegun muzzle exhaust gets chrome plating on it giving it shiny appearance. The TVS Star City Plus comes with a special Molycoat piston in the engine that ensures reduced friction inside the cylinder. This way it provides better combustion and longer engine life.

Power source for the motorcycle is a 109.7 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine paired with a 4-speed gearbox. The engine is capable of churning out 8.4 bhp of peak power at 7,000 rpm and 8.7 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. The 109 kg weighing commuter offers impressive 86 kmpl of fuel efficiency.
