New TVS Apache 160 takes design inspiration from Apache RTR 200 4V; becomes sharper, sportier and more stylish
TVS Apache series has earned positive response with its range of sporty performance bikes for over a decade. It has been rumored for quite some time that the Indian two-wheeler manufacturer is working on a new refreshed Apache RTR 160 and Apache RTR 180 as well. Despite the old Apache 160 and 180 doing well in the market, the competition is growing thick and fast.
Bajaj has already launched the Pulsar NS 160 in India and the Pulsar 180 was also updated with BS-IV compliance. Honda CB Hornet 160R and Suzuki Gixxer are having their own place in the market too. Yamaha too offers the FZ-S V 2.0 amidst speculations that the new-gen version is arriving in the coming months. This makes the segment one of the most competitive in the two-wheeler space.
With all these competitors giving the Apache series run for money, TVS has decided to update the bike range to make them more appealing. The company is yet to make any official announcement about the upcoming new Apache series. But, the test mule of all-new Apache RTR 160 has been already spied on Indian roads and it looks absolutely production ready.
It is not exactly sure, when the bike will arrive in the market. But one thing is sure that with this refreshed Apache series, TVS is going to renew the appeal of these sporty entry-level performance bikes. Before the two-wheeler manufacturer launches the new Apache RTR 160, we take a look at the so far known facts and figures:

The bike shares the same fully digital instrument cluster with its bigger sibling and that increases its premium appeal much more. The handlebar remains same as the present model.
The already muscular 16-litre capacity fuel tank could come with a more sculpted look increasing the masculine tone of the bike while the seat would get better cushioning to offer greater comfort to the rider and pillion rider as well. As it appears, the upcoming bike won’t get a split seat. But, a split seat would certainly increase the sportiness along with the split grab rail at the back.
The bike gets LED taillight and the crafted looking exhaust muzzle appears just same as the Apache RTR 200 4V. The bike also gets silver side panels giving it a bi-colour appearance. As the test mule suggests, the upcoming TVS Apache RTR 160 would get slimmer tyres.
