2017 SsangYong Korando Launched in UK from Rs. 14.16 Lakh

The new 2017 SsangYong Korando has become more stylish with the exterior updates; powered by a 178 PS producing 2.2-litre diesel engine

South Korean automaker SsangYong has launched the facelift version of the Korando compact SUV in UK market, priced from £17,000, equivalent to Rs. 14,16,158. The car has received several exterior and interior updates that make it more attractive compared to the pre-facelift version. It is available in four different trims which are SE, SE 4×4, ELX 4×4 and ELX Automatic, with the top trim priced at £23,500, equivalent to Rs. 19,57,630.

Speaking about the changes, the exterior of the car has received an all-new front grille with sleek chrome trim and the headlamps too come revised. Honestly, the 2017 SsangYong Korando has followed its two siblings Tivoli and the Tivoli XLV for design inspiration. The headlamps come sporting integrated LED daytime running lights with 11 LED lamps improving the illumination.

The fog lamps have been updated as well and they are positioned at the black cladding that houses the air intake at the front bumper. At the side profile, the SsangYong Korando facelift gets black cladding, 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, subtly flared wheelarches, blackened glass area, body coloured door handles, turn indicator integrated ORVMs and roof rails.

The slanted rear profile gets vertically positioned taillights, high mounted stop lamp, chrome garnished tailgate handlebar and a chunky black bumper with twin chrome tipped exhaust. Inside the cabin too, changes have been introduced and the compact SUV sports more ergonomic multi-function heated steering wheel, analog dial and digital MID consisting instrument cluster. The centre console features a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with TomTom sat-nav.

The interior also features rear parking camera, reverse parking sensor, leather seats, hated front and rear seats. Power source for the vehicle is a 2.2-litre diesel engine that is capable of churning out 178 PS of peak power and 400 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duty is done by a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed Aisin automatic gearbox is also on offer.
