The Dzire offers more headroom to the occupants, thanks to the 10 mm of extra height than the Amaze. Due to the much larger wheelbase (45 mm), the Maruti compact sedan is able to offer more leg space to the occupants compared to the Honda Amaze. Upcoming all-new Maruti Suzuki Dzire comes available in both petrol and diesel engine options, just like the old model. The compact sedan retains the same engines under the hood. Therefore, it gets the same 1.2-litre petrol engine, while the diesel model is powered by the Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre DDiS unit. Apart from that, a 1.0-litre Boosterjet petrol engine is on the card, but that would arrive later. This engine would be borrowed from the Baleno premium hatchback.

The new Maruti Suzuki Dzire is also expected to receives SHVS mild-hybrid technology introduced to the diesel model, just like the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz midsize sedan and the Ertiga. The Honda Amaze diesel variant gets power from a 1.5-litre engine, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. It pumps out 100 PS of peak power at 3,600 rpm and 200 Nm of peak torque from 1,750 rpm. In terms of fuel efficiency, the Honda Amaze petrol MT variant returns 17.8 kmpl, while very interestingly, the CVT variant delivers 18.1 kmpl.
