Deliveries of the 2017 Ducati Diavel Diesel has begun in India and it will be sold in limited number
Ducati has reintroduced the Diavel brand following a temporary halt in sales due to the mandatory switch to BSIV emission regulations. The first model to reemerge is the Diavel Diesel which has a limited production capacity of 666 units worldwide. The Italian manufacturer has not announcement how many are destined for India yet but the interest showed for special edition Ducatis are always high in our market.
With deliveries having commenced, the diesel edition of the Ducati Diavel has been priced at Rs. 21.7 lakh (ex-showroom, pan India). Initially the Diavel Diesel was introduced in the third month of the year before being discontinued due to stricter emission norms. It is now priced at almost Rs. 2 lakh dearer because of the revised GST regulations and the customers who ordered earlier will get the bikes meeting BSIV regulations.
The Ducati Diavel Diesel made its debut as a joint project between Diesel’s licensing creative director Andrea Rosso and Ducati Design Centre at the Milan Men’s Fashion Week. It gets powered by the Testastretta 11-degree, 1198 cc, L-twin engine which is good enough to produce 152 bhp and 123 Nm of peak torque. It also has a whole host of electronics package with Ducati Safety Pack (ABS and Ducati Traction Control) and Riding Modes.
The biggest highlight, apart from its mean stance, is the bodywork made of hand brushed stainless steel with visible welding and rivets and it has an exclusive brown leather seat with pyramid emblems. Other key features are red lateral intake covers with Diesel logo, red detailing on the front brake calipers and LCD instrument cluster, red treated chain links, blackened exhaust system, etc.
The Diavel Diesel is available to buy across all Ducati showrooms in the country. Apart from its reentry, Ducati has also announced festive season discounts on highly desirable models like the Multistrada 950, Monster 797 and the Scrambler. Like every other manufacturer, Ducati is banking on the increased sales during this festive season with limited period finance schemes, exchange offers and accessory benefits of up to Rs. 1 lakh.
