The new range-topping 2017 BMW 330i GT M Sport receives cosmetic changes and feature additions while sharing powertrain with 330i Luxury Line

The BMW 3-series GT range has just received a new high-spec variant for the domestic market as the 330i GT M Sport has been launched at Rs. 49.40 lakh (ex-showroom, pan India). It comes with several visual updates and feature additions to the interior as well. The German manufacturer is expanding the 3-Series GT fleet because it does not have any direct rivals in the market and is preferred for its bigger boot, increase wheelbase and cabin room compared to the standard 3-Series sedan.

The GT M Sport gets new 18-inch alloy wheels with 225/50 front tyre and 255/45 rear tyre along with glossy black grille slats, exhaust pipes finished in chrome, prominent M badging and an exclusive Estoril Blue metallic paint scheme. As for the interior, the BMW 3-Series GT M Sport comprises of M Sport multifunctional steering wheel wrapped in leather, headliners finished in grey, 10.5-inch digital instrument cluster, large heads-up display and M badges on the door sill among other changes.

The range-topping model carries all the equipment made available in the 330i Luxury Line and costs Rs. 80,000 dearer. The notable features are BMW’s iDrive with an 8.8-inch touchscreen display giving access to navigation system with 3D maps, GPS and BMW Apps. Apart from them, the BMW 3-Series GT M Sport gains reversing camera, smartphone integration with Bluetooth, USB and Aux-in connectivity, Park Distance Control (PDC) with front and rear parking sensors, etc. The top-spec variant also receives cruise control with braking function.

On the safety front, the M Sport gets six airbags, Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with brake assist, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), ISOFIX child safety mounts, run-flat tyres with reinforced side walls, side impact protection, crash sensors and electronic vehicle immobilizer.

The BMW 3-Series GT M Sport derives power from a 1,998 cc four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine which is good enough to deliver a maximum power output of 252 hp and 350 Nm peak torque. The engine is shared with the 330i Luxury Line and is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission sending power to the rear axle.
