2017 Audi Q7 to Get 2.0-Litre TFSI Turbo Engine

With new turbocharged engine, the 2017 Audi Q7 will be faster compared to the outgoing model as the downsized engine will reduce cost

Audi is all set to introduce a new 2.0-litre turbocharged TFSI four-cylinder engine in 2017 Q7. The new engine will make 2017 Audi Q7 significantly lightweight, faster and much more fuel efficient as well. The German luxury automaker claims that, upcoming model with all-new turbocharged engine will be around 500 pounds lighter than the outgoing Audi Q7.

Equipped with turbocharger this engine will generate more torque as well. 2017 Audi Q7 will produce 252 hp of peak power between 5,000 rpm and 6,000 rpm, while peak torque amount for this car will be 370 Nm produced between 1,600 rpm and 4,500 rpm. The 3.0-litre supercharged V6 engine generates around 280 hp of peak power and 400 Nm of peak torque. Outgoing model can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in around 7.7 seconds, and 2017 Audi Q7 is expected to be faster than that.

With the downsized engine 2017 Audi Q7 is also claimed to come much more fuel efficient. Audi claims, it will deliver 22% improved fuel economy compared to outgoing model. With all this pricing of the car will be much lower as well, which altogether make this car a pretty attractive one compared to outgoing Audi Q7.

The German auto manufacturer also says that, 2017 Q7 will roll out sometime in early next year. The luxury car comes with a sharp styling, and 2017 version won’t go through much change at exterior. But expect a little bit of design tweaks to make it look sharper. Interior of the car could receive some updates in features, which will include an improved touchscreen infotainment system.

In India, Audi launched 2016 Q7 in December 2015 at Rs. 72 lakh. The car came based on MLB platform, and dimensionally it came 37mm shorter and 15mm narrower compared to its previous version. Also the car received several updates at exterior and inside the cabin.
