2016 TVS Jupiter Disc Brake Version has been spotted testing for the first time since its official launch, it could hide a 125cc engine underneath too
TVS is focusing all of its power and attention on scooters for more numbers in terms of cash, sales and market share and much more. The product has been very well acclaimed and the product has taken the market by storm and has been clocking really good numbers.
The name, the platform and the extreme value for money package along with innovative features it offers is still unmatched. Surely, new scooter from Hero gives it a tough time but it still remains a high quality, well rounded package.
TVS seems to be using this platform for more and its obvious indeed. The spy shots suggest that the choke button is missing and there could be introduction of fuel-injection. Which, if it is, then it is meant for export markets, the scooter has carburetor 109cc engine which makes 8 PS of power and 8 Nm of torque.
A 125cc with advanced ignition system which uses an auto choke and carburetor at the same time with a 125cc engine could make it to the Jupiter as well. With the features on board along with great ride and handling package and new TVS Remora tyres means the scooter can be almost faultless.
As of now it is being tested in its initial steps and we could see a launch something based on the Jupiter later this year. A 125cc means it could easily target the newly refreshed 125cc scooter from Suzuki, called the Access, which is also a metal body scooter. Expect a good increase in power and torque along with a bit of kerb weight and similar mileage figures for this scooter and take on the likes of the Honda Activa 125, Suzuki twins and then recently launched Mahindra Gusto 125cc as well.
