2016 Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo launched in Thailand with exterior and interior modifications
The Japanese manufacturer has come up with its 2016 Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo package in Thailand which is more than a sport kit. Toyota has revealed official image gallery and brochure of Toyota Fortuner Sportivo TRD which is more sportier than the previous model – the second generation Fortuner. This new model will be be offered in two colours Pearl White CS and Attitude Black Mica.
Toyota Fortuner Sportivo TRD includes changes in its exterior and has redesigned front and rear bumper, chrome grille with a Toyota Badge, etc. Also it gets matte black film on roof and dark chrome from rear licence plate with TRD sportive badges. The big SUV now gets a black six spokes 20-inch TRD wheels which is wrapped in 265/50 Dunlop rubber. Sportivo also comes with upgraded suspension and upgraded brakes.
Inside, Sportivo model features a Hilux-based JBL touch sound system with navigation which is connected to 11 speakers for a premium audio experience. The cabin seats are covered with Red and Black colours with finishing of red stitching. Also, red effect can be seen on door panels. Dashboard gets a “carbon kelvar” on the steering and leather covered gear knob.
Toyota Fortuner Sportivo TRD is equipped with a 2.8-litre 1GD-FTV turbo diesel engine which can produce 177 bhp of power with 450 NM of torque which is connected to a six speed automatic gearbox. Sportivo offers to choose from 2WD (rear-wheel drive) or the “Sigma4” 4WD. Prices range from 1,679,000 baht (Rs. 31,93,085) to 1,769,000 baht (Rs. 33,62,873).
Toyota will launch Sportivo TRD with Hilux sister truck this year in Malaysia and also it may come up with this special version of Fortuner in India. Toyota being the country’s largest maker able to sold 29,286 units beating the sales of rivals Ford Everest and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport in Malaysia.
