The sub-four metre Qunato crossover was launched in 2012 with plentiful expectations but it struggled to meet the market demands and slowly began sinking from the beginning. It prompted the largest SUV maker in the country to re-think and come up with a facelift that’s been spotted testing numerous times last year.
Recently, Mahindra launched the facelift version of Quanto christened as Nuvosport with a starting price tag of Rs.7.35 lakhs. The seven-seater Mahindra Nuvosport comes in six variants with top two trims getting optional AMT transmission.

The Mahindra Nuvosport comes with best in class width & height that stands at 3985 mm in length, 1850 mm in width, 1870 mm in height with 2760 mm of wheelbase. It features a ground clearance of 180 mm and tips the weighing scale at 1640 kg as kerb weight. Nuvosport come with new generation platform with comfort suspension and anti roll technologies.
Mahindra Nuvosport features a comprehensively revamped front fascia and is built on an all-new platform. It has sharper elements with six vertical slats on the now-smaller grille housing the Mahindra emblem. The eyebrow-ish LED Daytime Running Lights are just above and underneath the bonnet making them appear like a separate unit altogether. The bumper up front has been refurbished with round-ish foglamps and new enclosures.
The air-dam looks prominent just above the under-body silver protection and the Nuvosport will come with newly designed alloy wheels and door cladding on the sides. The sharper creases bring up a more sturdy appearance but the side profile seems to have left undisturbed while the bonnet stays higher up with a larger scoop.
The seven-seater Mahindra Nuvosport crossover is offered with double DIN touchscreen infotainment system with voice recognition, navigation and Bluetooth connectivity. Changes to the interior colour scheme will include a new beige-themed dashboard and fabric materials, multi-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls for audio and other carried forward features from the outgoing model.
ABS with EBD, engine immobiliser, front seatbelt pre-tensioner with force limiter, auto speed sensing door lock and child safety lock along with standard driver airbag across all variants are on the safety features list.
The Mahindra Nuvosport sub-4m utility vehicle will compete against the likes of the impending Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the long-time benchmark Ford EcoSport before the Hyundai Carlino based SUV and the Tata Nexon join the fray.
