2016 Hyundai Elantra specs leaked; it will be available in five different trims namely S, SX, SX AT, SX (O) and SX (O) AT

The new Hyundai Elantra is all set to enter the Indian market on 23rd August. The stylish and upmarket sedan has been making headlines for quite some time now. Meanwhile we have got the entire specification list of the car. The car will be available in 5 different trims – S, SX, SX AT, SX(O) and SX(O) AT.

On the design front the new car looks stylish and sportier. The car looks much sharper compared to the previous model. It features projector headlamps, boomerang shaped LED daytime running lights at front. The side profile comes with 16 inch alloy wheels. While the rear sports a shark fin antenna, uniquely designed LED taillights.

The interior of the new Hyundai Elantra gets several features, which include a large 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay system, satellite navigation. Also the dual zone automatic climate control, anti pinch sunroof, push start/stop button. The parking sensors and cruise control make the driving convenient.

The 2016 Hyundai Elantra will be available in both petrol and diesel options. The petrol model will come powered by a 2.0 litre MPI four cylinder engine. This engine churns out 152 PS of peak power and 190 Nm of peak torque. The diesel Elantra on the other hand gets power from a 1.6 litre CRDi engine. This engine is well capable to kick out 128 PS of peak power and 265 Nm of peak torque.

Transmission options include a 6 speed manual gearbox as standard. There will be an automatic gearbox as well. On the fuel economy front the petrol MT model delivers a fuel economy of 14.6 kmpl. The diesel MT offers 22.4 kmpl of fuel efficiency. On the pricing front the petrol models are expected to be priced between Rs. 15 lakhs – Rs. 18 lakhs. The diesel models will come priced between Rs. 16 lakhs – Rs. 20 lakhs.
