UM Renegade Commando has what it takes on paper to take on its rival as it has the typical cruiser styling and less horsepower to attract posers
Cruiser motorcycles are taking the center stage at the Auto Expo from all motorcycle manufacturers. Wish Bajaj was here to show the Avengers and complete the kitty. However, its biggest rival in terms of exclusivity is here. UM plans to directly aim at main stream manufacturer with its new set of cruisers that it revealed at the last Auto Expo. The Renegade range of cruisers includes three cruisers and one of the most eye catching and crowd gainers is the new Commando.
The Renegade Commando is the most American looking cruiser from this manufacturer. The tank reminds of the Hyosung and the Harleys of the past. The motorcycle has typical cruiser traits such as a long sweeping exhaust. The chrome bits are here to add bling to the package.
The tail mudguard slopes downwards and it has the stop-lamp mounted on to it. The front has the very military look as it has the headlight and indicator placed in such a way it looks like muscular and very retro at the same time. The split seats, the small spoke wheels that have fat tyres on them just has the right appeal that will attract the masses.
The Renegade Commando powered by a 279 cc single-cylinder water-cooled engine developing 25 bhp at 8500 RPM and 21.8 Nm of torque at 7000 RPM, mated to a six-speed transmission. The UM Renegade Commando comes with wide handlebars and hydraulic telescopic front suspension and dual spring rear suspension. The Commando has a fuel tank of 18 litres and weighs 172 kg with 90% fuel filled in fuel tank.
UM motorcycle has one huge task in front of them when it comes to opening sales and service outlets nationwide to sell their promising cruisers. The Cruisers have been finally launched and we will be riding them very soon too. Stay tuned for a review and verdict on these cruisers from UM soon.
