2015 Yamaha YZF-R3 comes at a price that under cuts Kawasaki Ninja 300, ABS missing on both Japanese bikes
2015 Yamaha YZF-R3 is finally here folks. It has been the highly awaited motorcycle of the country, and finally Yamaha has taken the right decision top launch the R3 instead of the rumored R25 and even other baseless rumors. 2015 Yamaha YZF-R3 has come to India via the CKD route from Indonesia and will assembled at Yamaha’s Chennai plant. 2015 Yamaha YZF-R3 is set to compete very tough rivals.
The KTM RC 390 and Kawasaki Ninja 300 are its primary competitors and since Honda has decided not to bring the CBR300R forget the CBR500R there is no competition from Honda as of now. 2015 Yamaha YZF-R3 comes with a styling which isn’t exactly jaw dropping but it striking enough but not beautiful. Still it is enough to lure bike posers to the showroom thanks to full fairing and those panels are shaped very well. Front headlights are not Yamaha-ish at all and it’s the rear and side which resembles to the age-old R6. Two colors are only available midnight and Racing Blue.
2015 Yamaha YZF-R3 comes with a liquid-cooled, fuel-injected DOHC engine which has four valves per cylinder. The engine displaces 321cc and churns out 42 BHP 10,750 RPM and 29.6 Nm of torque from its highly advanced engine. DiASIL aluminium cylinder continues to be a part of the engine as it was seen on the R15 and MotoGp motorcycles as well. 32mm throttle bodies, downdraft air intake system. Short stroke engine still produces a lot of torque. There is no ABS and slipper clutch on the bike. 2015 Yamaha YZF-R3 will come MRF radial sticky REVZ tyres, not mediocre IRC or Bridgestone tyres seen.
Forged pistons continues to power Yamaha motorcycles and the 2015 Yamaha YZF-R3 comes with the same. Offset cylinders make things more efficient in every way possible. Power is sent via six-speed gearbox. 169 kg is kerb weigh of the bike which is 14 litre fuel tank should help tourers rejoice. Chassis wise the tubular diamond frame is what the competition has but not the KTM which has a proper trellis frame. Telescopic forks and monoshock do the suspension duties. Longer swingarm has been used to make things better in straight line. Dispatching of the 2015 Yamaha YZF-R3 will begin around 20’th August.
