Triumph Scrambler 400X

Royal Enfield and Bajaj-Triumph are launching new motorcycles to compete against KTM 390 Adventure in the coming months in India

The KTM 390 Adventure is considered by many as a complete motorcycle for highway touring as well as off-roading and it does not dig a hole in your pocket too. With its increasing acceptance and the high popularity of 350-450 cc motorcycles, other brands are vying for the same spotlight. Here we have brought you a lowdown on two upcoming KTM Adv 390 rivals:

1. Royal Enfield Himalayan 450:

Within the next two months, Royal Enfield will introduce the Himalayan 450 in the domestic market and it will be exported to foreign markets as well. The first motorcycle coming out of the brand new 450 cc range will be packed with features such as upside-down front forks, offset monoshock rear suspension, LED lighting all around, fully-digital cluster, etc.

It will derive power from a 450 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine developing a maximum power output of around 40 bhp. The powertrain will be mated to a six-speed transmission while a slipper and assist clutch could be offered as standard. It will feature a dual-channel ABS system while Bluetooth connectivity with in-built navigation will also be available.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 takes an evolutionary and more modern approach to design compared to the existing Himalayan 411 and it will be based on a brand new platform. It could carry a competitive starting price of around Rs. 2.6 lakh (ex-showroom).
