Hindustan Motors’ Ambassador has been one of the iconic cars of all time in the history of Indian car industry. For decades, it ferried the VVIPs of the country and for the commoners too the Ambassador has been the most popular medium as yellow taxi. However, the car has been discontinued as it couldn’t keep pace with the fast changing time. But, here we have a 1988 HM Ambassador restored to its past glory by KitUp Automotive.

This particular Ambassador appears reflecting its dignified glory from every angle and it wears a bit of premiumness as well, all thanks to the subtle modifications. The car wears a Frozen Midnight Black exterior paint scheme that enhances its visual appeal further.

The signature round shaped large headlamps along with fog lamps neatly positioned below are intact. The large front grille too is there with chrome garnishing and a black horizontal strip at the centre of it. The front bumper has been modified and it wears black paint scheme along with horizontally positioned chrome strips. At the side profile too, the iconic silhouette remains same and the windows come with sleek chrome trim highlighting them.

Moving to the rear of the restored Ambassador, it gets those signature vertically positioned taillights, a chunky black bumper with horizontally positioned chrome trim just like the front bumper. While the exterior has received subtle changes, interior comes with a premium vibe thanks to the addition of the LED light package and tanned leather colour theme.

In terms of design inside the cabin, the steering wheel, instrument cluster and dashboard remain same. The dashboard receives a tanned paint scheme contrasting with the black steering wheel and instrument cluster. The seats come offering more comfort and they don tanned leather covering.

The front seats get headrest and the conventional bench has been removed. Rear occupants too get more comfortable sitting experience thanks to the plush seat. The black roof fabric along with LED lights enhances the style further.
