Scheduled to arrive on June 1, new Suzuki Swift Sport comes with slew of standard equipment emphasising its performance credentials and sporty exterior
The new generation Suzuki Swift Sport will be making its way into the United Kingdom very soon and ahead of the entry, its introductory offer price has been announced at £16,499 (Rs. 15.12 lakh approx). The offer at launch covers a saving of £1,500 from the list price and is available for existing and new customers until June 30.
Scheduled to arrive on the 1st of June, the new Suzuki Swift Sport comes packed with a whole host of standard equipment emphasising its performance credentials as well as exterior modifications. It gets sporty semi bucket seats, red accents on the dashboard and console, infotainment system with navigation provision and Bluetooth connectivity among others.

The new hot hatchback derives power from Suzuki’s 1.4-litre turbocharged Boosterjet engine which is good enough to produce a maximum power output of 140 PS and 230 Nm of peak torque. The more powerful engine makes 44 percent more peak torque and is available at as low as 2,500 rpm when compared to the old naturally aspirated engine that had long been in the business.
Being based on a lightweight architecture, the 2018 Swift Sport only tips the weighing scale at 975 kilograms. With increased torque output and chassis lightness, the sporty handling characteristics and agility have certainly improved. Going by numbers, it can accelerate from zero to 100 kmph in just 8.1 seconds and can max out 209 kmph.

As for the mechanicals, standard 17-inch polished alloy wheels, high performance Monroe dampers and bigger brakes have been introduced, along with lane departure warning system and advanced collision mitigation system for bettered safety level.
