12 Upcoming CNG Cars In India In 2023 – Brezza CNG To Innova Crysta CNG

As many as seven new brands will be launching new CNG cars in the Indian market including Toyota and Skoda

Rising fuel costs, stricter emission norms, and increasing running costs are pushing new car buyers towards CNG cars and many brands are now expanding their CNG portfolio in the country. As many as 12 new CNG cars will be launched in the country next year including the Maruti Brezza CNG, Hyundai Creta CNG, and the Innova Crysta CNG.

1. Maruti Brezza CNG

The new Brezza CNG will be one of the latest Maruti cars to be offered with a CNG powertrain and is likely to come with a 1.5L K15C engine that churns out a peak power output of 87 bhp and 122 Nm of maximum torque in the CNG mode. The Brezza CNG is also likely to be offered with both manual as well as automatic gearbox options. More details however are still awaited.

2. Tata Punch CNG/Altroz CNG/Nexon CNG

After the successful launch of the Tiago CNG and the Tigor CNG in the country, Tata is now gearing up to launch multiple new CNG cars including the Punch CNG, Altroz CNG and the Tata Nexon CNG. While the Punch CNG and the Altroz CNG are likely to share the same 1.2L Revotron CNG engine with the Tiago CNG, the Nexon CNG on the other hand will be offered with a more powerful 1.2L turbo engine.

3. Hyundai Creta CNG/ Venue CNG/ Alcazar CNG

Hyundai is currently offering only two CNG cars in the country and is said to be working on three new CNG cars which will make their debut in the country somewhere next year. These include the Venue facelift, Creta CNG, and Alcazar CNG. The official specifications of these engines will be shared ahead of the launch by the brand.

4. Kia Sonet CNG/Carens CNG

Kia is also expected to launch two new CNG cars in the country including the Sonet CNG and the Carens CNG. Both the cars are likely to share the same engine and will boast affordable running costs when compared to the petrol versions. Once launched, the Sonet CNG will take on the rivals like the Hyundai Venue CNG and the Maruti Brezza CNG in India.

5. Toyota Innova Crysta CNG

After launching the new Toyota Innova Hycross in India, Toyota is said to be working on the updated iteration of the Toyota Innova Crysta that will soon be introduced in the market. This new version is expected to be offered with a 2.7L petrol engine with a factory-fitted CNG kit. Furthermore, the updated Innova Crysta is said to be offered with two other engine options – a 2.7L petrol engine and a 2.4L diesel engine.

6. Citroen C3 CNG

The new C3 is the second offering in the brand’s line-up and is said to be soon launched with a factory-fitted engine. While the brand is yet to share more details about the upcoming Citroen C3 CNG, reports suggest that it will be offered with a 1.2L NA three-cylinder Bi-Fuel engine.

7. Skoda Kushaq CNG

The Skoda Kushaq CNG was recently spied testing in the country and is said to go on sale somewhere in 2023. This new SUV will be positioned against the upcoming Creta CNG, Grand Vitara CNG, and the Toyota Urban Cruiser CNG. This new CNG SUV is expected to get a 1.0L turbo engine and will be around Rs 1 lakh more expensive than the standard petrol versions.
