​​TVS Racing Finishes Fifth In 2017 Morocco Rally; Gears Up For Dakar Challenge

The Indian teams showed good overall performance in the rally, especially TVS Racing that managed to finish with two riders in top ten

Joan Pedrero, TVS Racing’s rider has finished fifth in the 2017 edition of Oilibya Rally of Morocco. His team mates Adrien Metge and Aravind KP managed to earn 10th and 13th positions respectively. Hero Motorsports team also showed a decent performance and its rider Joaquim Rodrigues finished at the seventh place.

CS Santosh from the same team recorded his best ever rally finish at 15th position. Matthias Walkner from Red Bull KTM Rally Factory Racing won the 2017 title. This year, TVS racing has participated in the Morocco Rally 2017 with four riders who go by the name Aravind KP, Joan Pedrero, Adrien Metge and Santolino Sanchez.

The Rally of Morocco is a marathon rally that has been reintroduced in the year 2013. The said event remained inactive for so many years. The Morocco rally was first organised in 1934 and held intermittently till the year 1988 just like the Safari Rally. The Morocco rally is currently one of the most difficult rallies in the world.

The rally was a part of the World rally Championship round in 1973, 1975 and 1976. The stages in the Morocco rally vary from being shorter ones to rough, challenging and more typical ones and to very long that include crossing deserts just like the Dakar Rally. In other news, TVS is all set to launch its flagship model, the Apache RR 310S anytime in the current financial year. The long awaited motorcycle was showcased as the Akula concept model at the 2016 Auto Expo.

The prime highlights of the TVS Apache RR 310S include twin projector headlamps, full fairing, sport design language, dual disc brakes with Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and LED tail lamp & turning winkers. The motorcycle also receives a full digital instrument cluster that packs in a lot of race inspired features, a signature feature of the Apache RTR series.

The TVS Apache RR 310S will make its arrival at a price of close to Rs. 1.8 lakh (ex-showroom). The motorcycle will compete against some tough players in this segment like the KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the recently launched Benelli 302R.
