The Triumph Street Triple RS is the highest spec model of the new Street Triple range and gets many of the modern day bells and whistles

Triumph Motorcycles has launched the Street Triple RS in the Indian two-wheeler market today at Rs. 10.55 lakh (ex-showroom, pan India). The new Street Triple family is currently on sale internationally in three variants namely the Street Triple S, Street Triple R and lastly, the Street Triple RS. India only had the low-spec and yet awesome S version that was launched here a few months back and it is now joined by the top-spec model.

To be precise, the Triumph Street Triple RS comes powered by an inline three-cylinder engine that has been assisted to a six-speed transmission. The fuel injected motor is good for churning out a maximum power output of 123 bhp along with a peak torque of 77 Nm. This engine is retuned to offer better performance and delivers more power and torque than the S trim that does 113 bhp and 73 Nm respectively. The engine in the Street triple RS also offers five riding modes so that the rider can set the ride settings as per his convenience.

The suspension on the Street Triple RS also witnesses an upgrade over the S version as the bike comes equipped with Showa 41 mm upside down forks upfront along with an Ohlins fully adjustable monoshock at the rear. The bike comes shod with high performance Pirelli Supercorsa tyres that are apt for track as well as road riding.

One of the biggest highlights of the new Street Triple RS is the new multi colour instrument cluster that adjusts contrast automatically according to the available light. The digital display also has multiple viewing modes. The new Triumph Street Triple RS has been priced competitively we feel considering the bells and whistles it packs in.

Earlier, Triumph had suggested that all three motorcycles from the Street Triple range would be launched in the country. However, now it seems that the company will settle selling the lowest and highest models and there is no room for the middle R variant.
