​​2018 BMW R1200GS Starts Making Its Way To Dealerships Globally

​The new 2018 version of the company’s most advanced adventure tourer​ gets a host of fresh optional accessories to choose from

The new 2018 edition of the BMW R1200GS adventure tourer has started arriving at the dealerships globally. The motorcycle, just like its 2017 iteration also meets Euro-IV emission norms and gets a bunch of optional accessories to please the customers. Besides, the new BMW R1200GS will be offered in multiple variants, out of which one will be the Rallye version.

Out of the numerous accessories that the company will be offering with the 2018 BMW R1200GS for the customers, many of them have been introduced for the first time. The key equipment on such a list include automatic damping and self levelling ESA. Besides, the company will also be offering shift assistance` Pro along with advanced riding mode plug in. The latter offers additional Pro modes for the Enduro and Dynamic settings.

However, the most important and impressive upgrade of all is the BMW Call ‘Connectivity’ feature. Under this, the analog digital instrument cluster of the motorcycle makes way for the full digital TFT unit that supports smartphone connectivity as well. The element will cost an additional £595. Apart from this, BMW Motorrad is also offering its Emergency Call system at a cost of £295 and has been offered for the first time.

The BMW R1200GS gets its power from a 1170cc engine that has been assisted to a six-speed transmission system. The engine cranks out respective power and torque outputs of 125 bhp and 125 Nm. The braking system of the BMW R1200GS comprises of twin 305mm disc brakes at the front along with a single 265mm disc unit at the rear.

Besides all these interesting updates, needless to say, the 2018 BMW R1200GS will also be available in new paint schemes and graphics. Interested customers can purchase this motorcycle from a total of five mode options. The base model of the new R1200GS costs £13,400 while the top-end Rallye trim will set you back by £17,670.

The motorcycle is currently priced in India at Rs. 15.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Expect the 2018 model to arrive here in the coming weeks.
