Mahindra two-wheelers has just started dispatching a new version of its 110cc automatic scooter Gusto to the dealerships. Christened 2017 Gusto RS, the scooter comes with visual updates and offers sporty decals. The new Mahindra Gusto RS has been priced at Rs. 48,180 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new RS version will be available at the dealerships in two colours namely Red and Blue. If a customer books the scooter through PayTM, he is also eligible for Rs. 6,000 cashback.
Mechanically, there are no changes to the Mahindra Gusto RS in comparison to the standard model. The scooter gets its power from a 110cc, single cylinder, air-cooled engine that comes mated to an automatic transmission system. The carbureted motor develops a maximum power output of 8 bhp along with a peak torque of 9 Nm.
The Mahindra Gusto 110 is one of the most feature loaded scooters that you can buy in India. The scooter is popularly known as the only one in the country that offers a height adjustable seat. Besides, the Gusto also comes assisted with a remote flip key and find me lamps and these features you must have seen only on four wheelers till now. The Mahindra Gusto RS comes equipped with 130mm drum brakes that have been fitted at both ends. The suspension system of the Gusto RS comprises of telescopic forks with air springs upfront along with hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear.
Mahindra two-wheelers had announced a few days back that it has decided to exit the mass market segment and will focus on premium products like the Mojo. For this reason, the rolling of a new variant of Gusto comes as a surprise. With the new RS variant, may be the company wants to give one last shot to extract sales from the budgeted vehicle category.
