Volkswagen Group gains 7.1 percent sales worldwide in September 2016 as the brand starts recovering from the emission cheating scandal

The Volkswagen group has managed to sell a total number of 947,600 units in the month of September 2016 despite the emission cheating scandal created plenty of legal actions around the world for the largest automaker. This implies that, in comparison to the corresponding month last year, Volkswagen and its group models have gained 7.1 percent sales worldwide.

The statistics suggest that Volkswagen is slowly on a recovering phase since the start of this year as between January and September, a combined total of 7.6 million vehicles were sold. This means, compared to the first nine months of last year, a sales growth of 2.4 percent has been achieved. With all passenger car brands registering positive delivery performance, there was significant growth in the Chinese market alongside positive development in demand from European customers as VW Group focuses on reinforcing customers trust in its product.
