Tata Motors Delivers 56 Cars to Uber Drivers in Bangalore

Tata Motors and Uber Technologies has partnered to promote micro entrepreneurship

India’s leading auto manufacturer Tata Motors has tied up with the app based cab service Uber technologies in Bangalore. The partnership is to offer a chance to promote micro entrepreneurship in the city. As a part of that initiative Tata Motors has delivered a total of 50 cars to the drivers in Bangalore, which include 31 Tata Indica and 25 Tata Indigo. All these cars will run as Uber cabs.

Under the ‘Tata Offer’ the drivers can purchase the cars at a minimum down payment of Rs. 30,000. Also the scheme comes with a speedy funding within 7 to 10 days. The Tata Capital Financial Services and the Tata Motors Finance provide the financial support to the drivers while purchasing cars under the scheme.

In this scheme has been developed to minimize the problems of the drivers while purchasing the cars. Under this scheme Uber drivers can buy the cars like Tata Indica and Tata Indigo. Incidentally, both these cars come as pretty popular models for the fleet operators. The Indian auto major hopes to sell more 20,000 cars under this scheme. As a part of the partnership between the Tata Motors and the Uber Technologies, these cars come equipped with free accessories, GPS, external warranty and insurance.

Talking about the scheme, Mr. Nakul Gupta, Regional Manager, PVBU; Tata Motors has said, that the company wants to provide the drivers in Bangalore a seamless solution while they purchase the cars. He also believes, the partnership between the auto manufacturer and the Uber technologies will help the drivers to overcome the problems they face during purchasing new cars. The company also eyes to make the buying process simpler and quicker.

Apart from these driver friendly scheme Tata Motors is also offering service facility to the Uber driver in Bangalore with its best in class after sales service. The company has a total of 11 service workshops in Bangalore. To give the drivers support Tata Motors is focusing on improving the service infrastructure in the city.
