Suzuki Recalls GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F for the braking issue

Suzuki has just issued a recall for the GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F superbikes in the US market. A global recall could be on its way as the bikes are being made in Japan and exported to the world. The problem arrives with a faulty seal in the front brake piston cylinder. Due to insufficient sealing while coloring the calipers, some of this liquid treatment has entered the brake piston cylinder.

This therefore affects surface of the piston seal groove. The problem could higher and there could be a good amount of loss / leakage of brake fluid & as a result, it could damage the piston cylinder surface. Suzuki Recalls GSX-S1000 & GSX-S1000F dates of manufacturing has been identified.

The GSX-S1000 manufactured between July 10 & August 24 to be subject to this recall and the faired version, the GSX-S1000F, built between July 21 to July 21 2015 will be recalled back to base for a complete front caliper replacement. Needless to say this will be done free of charge for the customers and should be a fairly quick job. It remains questionable for the rest of the world and India.

However, a recall could be done for safety reasons or if the potential bikes exported have this specific problem. US recall has begun for the company and we will wait and watch what happens next. Both bikes are powered by same engines and transmission and most cycle parts are the same. The GSX-S1000 is being regarded the most powerful and one of the best naked litre class bikes in the segment and continue to do well worldwide as they offer value and performance along with serious fun behind the bars.
