Sachin Tendulkar gifts BMW to Rio Olympics medalists; P.V. Sindhu earlier received a Maruti Suzuki Swift from the little master four years ago

In a gala function held at Gopichand Badminton Academy in Hyderabad, Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar gifts BMW cars to P.V. Sindhu, Sakshi Malik and Dipa Karmakar along with Sindu’s coach Pullela Gopichand. Sachin was the Goodwill Ambassador for the Indian tam in 2016 Rio Olympics, where India won one Bronze and one silver.

While P.V Sindhu won the silver in badminton, Sakshi won bronze in wrestling. Dipa Karmakar lost the medal in a close competition, but she received accolades and appreciation from everyone. After P.V Sindhu won the medal in Rio Olympics, V. Chamundeshwarnath announced he will gift Sindhu a BMW for her achievement, but later decided to gift BMW models to all the three sports persons and also to Sindhu’s coach Gopichand.

Being a close friend of Sachin Tendulkar V. Chamundeshwarnath asked him to hand over the keys of the cars to the sports persons, and incidentally, Sachin is also known for his avid enthusiasm for BMW cars. P.V. Sindhu was gifted a Red coloured BMW 3 Series sedan, her coach was also gifted the same model painted in white. Gymnast Dipa Karmakar was gifted a white BMW X1 and bronze winner wrestler Sakshi Malik received a blue coloured X1.

Earlier, after 2012 London Olympics as well Sachin Tendulkar gifted ace badminton player Saina Nehwal a BMW 3 Series. In the same program the cricket legend presented a Maruti Suzuki Swift to P.V. Sindhu. Sachin also congratulated the three sportspersons and badminton coach Pullela Gopichand and wished them more success in the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.

Few days back Anand Mahindra, the Chairman and Managing Director of Mahindra & Mahindra also announced, Mahindra Thar for both P.V. Sindhu and Sakshi Malik, after they won medals in Rio Olympics.
