Royal Enfield launched its latest offering, the Himalayan, in New Delhi today at an on-road price of Rs. 1,73,676. The terrain taming and all-road capable adventure tourer will be available in two colour options namely Granite and Snow. It is open for bookings from today onwards across all the authorised Royal Enfield dealerships in New Delhi.

One of the oldest two-wheeler manufacturers in the world believes that the amateur motorcycling enthusiasts will be captivated by the simple design of the bike which offers versatile performance as well. Built from the ground-up, the Himalayan acquires power from the all-new long stroke LS 410 engine that is evolved from the overhead camshaft engine platform.

Developed to avail a more accessible and non-extreme form of adventure touring with purpose-built features and attributes, the Himalayan sits on a duplex split cradle frame developed by Harris Performance to enable stability and agility in whatever the surface the bike is ridden. It has 220 mm ground clearance and rides on mono shock rear suspension for smooth riding during long travels.

It comes equipped with a 411 cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine with an overhead crank and carburetor that develops 24.5 bhp at 6,500 rpm and 32 Nm of peak torque achieved at 4500 rpm. This torquey motor is mated to a five-speed constant mesh gearbox and developed with smooth riding on higher gears to negotiate rocky mountains, streams, valleys and rugged terrain.
