Renault Kwid 1.0L AMT (1000 cc AMT) has now expanded its availability from RXT top-end trim to RXL and Climber variants
Renault is all set to continue its own domination in the urban market after introducing an AMT version to its lineup equipped with 1,000 cc engine. The 1.0 SCe petrol featuring alongside the 800 cc petrol motor delivers best-in-class mileage and we were impressed by its performance during our test drive. Renault has also claimed that the AMT can deliver (24.04 kmpl) 1.03 kmpl more mileage than its manual sibling.
Showcased at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo at Greater Noida in early February, the Kwid five-speed Easy-R AMT was launched in the top-spec RXT trim and in 1,000 cc disguise. It gets a price hike of Rs.30,000 over the standard model. The 1.0L SCe AMT will play a key role in Renault’s aim of reaching 5 percent market share as the 0.8L sibling has already grabbed customer orders in aplenty since its launch.
The French company has expanded the availability of AMT to RXL as well as the sporty Climber variants to give increased choice for customers. The Renault AMT gets a rotary drive selector with R, N and D functions and it won’t be offered with a manual drive as in the Alto K10 AGS. It could take Renault to an all-new level in terms of brand image and volumes in India by giving sleepless nights to the competition.
Renault Kwid 1.0L AMT (1000 cc) Price:
The car was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo and garnered attention for the brand. It is priced at Rs. 4.32 lakh for the 1.0 SCe Automated Manual Transmission in the RXT trim. The 1.0L MT ranges between Rs. 3.89 lakh and Rs. 4.02 lakh for the RXT and RXT (O) variants respectively (only ar around Rs. 30,000 more than the 0.8L version).
The new 1.0 RXL AMT comes at a price of Rs. 3.84 lakh while the range-topping Climber 1.0 AMT is quoted at Rs. 4.6 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Similar to its 0.8-litre sibling, it comes with 98% localisation of parts and thus claimed to enable low cost of ownership.

Renault Kwid 1.0L AMT Engine, Specification & Mileage
The same 68 PS and 91 Nm producing 1.0-litre SCe all aluminum DOHC three-cylinder engine has layout ensuring low pressure drop with super-efficient valve lift for good amount of low, mid and high range torque. It is being mated to a five-speed AMT sending power to the front wheels and helping the car to achieve a claimed mileage of 24.04 kmpl. The 999cc is the new champion in the claimed economy numbers and the AMT wearing EASY-R badge as the Duster AMT should do the same.

Everything remain the same as the existing Renault Kwid in terms of dimensions. The car will look entirely similar to the regular Kwid which means it is an SUV-ish hatchback with black cladding, big wheel arches, quirky design all around and all of accessory and paint options to choose from.

Overall length, width, height stand at 3679 mm X 1579 mm X 1478 mm. Wheelbase of 2422 mm, ground clearance of 180 mm,boot capacity of 300 litres and fuel tank capacity of 28 litres are remaining identical. The Kerb Weight of Kwid is 669 kilograms.
Renault Kwid 1.0L AMT Interior & Features
Interior: Interiors remain the same except for some the addition of rotary gear selector and of course with the removal of clutch pedal. The absence of conventional gearshift means there is more storage space between driver and co-passenger. Quality levels are good and same features as in the current 1,000cc top-end RXT variant are incorporated.
Renault Kwid 1.0L AMT Key Features:
Touchscreen media nav system with Bluetooth, aux, usb, and electric mirrors are offered on the 1.0L SCe AMT as well. A/C power windows, digital instrument cluster and other tits bits are also made available alongside segment-first one-touch lane change indicator, radio speed dependent volume control and pro-sense seatbelt pretensioners with load limiters as in the regular manual RXT grade.
Dual tone gloss-grey ORVMs and body graphics come aboard. Renault offers complementary roadside assistance for two years while 50,000 km/2 year warranty period can be extended to 2,00,000 km/ 4 year.
Fiery Red, Ice Cool White, Moon Light Silver, Outback Bronze and Planet Grey are the five colour options available. The driver airbag and seat belt warning are provided as standard features in the AMT.
