Pulsar RS400 spied in production ready avatar in India, launch nearer’s

Just as news comes out that Yamaha R3 is all set to launch in India next month, Bajaj Pulsar RS400 spy shots have surfaced on the internet. The spy images clearly say this is the Pulsar RS400. Previously when it was shown at the Auto Expo 2014, it was named as the SS400. However, as we know the SS has been replaced by the RS nomenclature. What we saw at the Auto Expo 2014 was that the motorcycle was identical to the RS200 cosmetically and mechanically leaving aside the engine ofcourse.

The Pulsar RS400 is going to be powered by 350/375cc engine that is going produce around 40 BHP of power and 30 Nm of torque. The engine is derived from the KTM Duke/RC 390. The bottom end of the bike should be the same of both bikes which means the crankshaft along with gearbox and other tit bits will be carried over.

The head part of the Pulsar RS400 engine will be developed by Bajaj themselves as the it will have liquid cooling, triple spark ignition and much more. De-tuned engine is suppose to be more calm and responsive, and while being more efficient and less hooligan state of tune than the mighty KTM Duke/RC390!

Expect the Pulsar RS400 to priced around the 2.1 Lakh mark on-road, Mumbai/Pune and create a huge demand for the bike as it is bound to come with ABS on both wheels. Tyres should be bigger in size and more sticker compound as the Pulsar RS400 is race track oriented, but if we learned something from the RS200 that it is going to be super good at commuting and touring at the same time.

Another version of the RS400 should come as well. The Bajaj Pulsar CS400 is what seems to confirmed by the company for this fiscal year launch. Signs of launching the RS400 just became more evident and we can’t wait to get our hands on the machine that is going to rewrite the segment again just like its powerful and hooligan KTM brothers!
