Mercedes-Benz GLA 220d 4MATIC Activity Edition Launched At Rs 38.51 Lakh

With Mercedes-Benz GLA 220d 4MATIC Activity Edition, the German luxury automaker introduced its 6th SUV and 9th overall product in 2016

Mercedes-Benz has launched an all-new edition of GLA SUV christened as GLA 220d 4MATIC ‘Activity Edition’ in India at a price of 38.51 lakhs (ex-showroom, Pune). This model marks the company’s 6th SUV launch and 9th overall product launch in 2016. The company has taken an aggressive stance towards expanding its business in Indian market, and this model comes as a part of that.

Mercedes-Benz GLA 220d 4MATIC ‘Activity Edition’ sports some visual updates at exterior and some new interior features as well. It gets sporty black decals on doors, longitudinal chrome elements giving it a shiny appearance, while it runs on 18-inch new alloy wheels. Apart from this, the car features sharp headlamps with LED daytime running lights integrated, twin-chrome garnished slats running through front grille and holding the three-star logo at centre.

Inside the cabin, Mercedes-Benz GLA 220d 4MATIC ‘Activity Edition’ gets an all-new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Smartphone Integration package and Keyless GO starting function as well. Also the car comes with EASY PACK tailgate, rain sensing wipers, storage package and load compartment package with multiple storage facilities.

Power source for the Mercedes-Benz GLA 220d 4MATIC ‘Activity Edition’ is a 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine. This engine is capable to churn out 168 hp of peak power between 3,400 rpm and 4,000 rpm, and 350 Nm of peak torque between 1,400 rpm and 3,400 rpm. The car can accelerate 0 – 100 kmph in just 7.7 seconds.

Speaking about the launch of Mercedes-Benz GLA 220d 4MATIC ‘Activity Edition’ Mr. Roland Folger, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Mercedes-Benz India has said, this new GLA variant will attract young customers. He also said that, GLA has already generated volumes for the company since its launch, and it has sold more than 3,500 units in India. With introduction of this new variant Mercedes-Benz India expects sales growth.
