Maruti Suzuki to launch more SUVs in India; expect the Vitara Sport and Jimny to enter the Indian market to capitalise on the trend

Maruti Suzuki MD and CEO Mr. Kenichi Ayukawa have said that the company is planning to introduce more SUVs and large cars in Indian market. The overwhelming response to the Vitara Brezza compact SUV and Ciaz sedan has inspired the company to think seriously about bringing more SUVs in Indian market. In that case we might see the performance oriented Suzuki Vitara Sport and the Suzuki Jimny also to enter the Indian market.

Maruti Suzuki has been the most popular and largest auto manufacturer in the country for long time. In the small compact car market the Indo Japanese automaker’s presence is very strong, and now the company is slowly shifting its focus toward the other segments as well. No wonder, the Vitara Brezza being the company’s latest entrant in the compact SUV segment and the Ciaz sedan being a stylish upmarket sedan from the carmaker has garnered pretty good response.

This success has inspired the automaker to think more aggressively. The company has already started working on a new version of the Alto hatchback. In the small car segment the competition has been rising steeply, which has prompted the automaker to come out with more modern designs fulfilling the need of new age customers. Apart from that the company is also focusing on the larger car and SUV segments in the country.

Mr. kenichi Ayukawa clearly states, that Maruti Suzuki is planning to introduce more premium cars in the country in an attempt to stay ahead of its competitors. He also said, the changing mindset, expectations and demands of Indian customers are shifting toward premium cars rather than just entry level cars.
