Maruti Suzuki Ciaz touched 1 lakh sales milestone; it is the brand’s first experiment in the premium sedan segment
Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is the Indo Japanese auto manufacturer’s first experiment with premium sedan, and the stylish sedan has touched the prestigious 1 lakh sales milestone in the Indian market. Not only that, the Ciaz is giving the Honda City a run for money, which is the best selling sedan in the country, as in the last five months Ciaz has beaten the City twice.
In May, 2016 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz sold a total of 5188 units compare to the Honda City’s 3300 units, while in April this year Ciaz sold 5793 units and the average sells for the Maruti Suzuki sedan in last five months stands at 5400 units. On the other hand the City has fetched an average sales figure of 5500 units in the same time period. Apart from such success in domestic market the Ciaz has exported 18000 units to the overseas markets.

The Indo Japanese automaker launched the Ciaz sedan in October, 2014, and in last September the company introduced a mild hybrid version to the car, which has been christened as the Ciaz SHVS and the technology enabled the sedan to receive special tax exemption from Indian government as the government gives benefits to the electric, hybrid and CNG cars.
Apart from that in Delhi and NCR the Supreme Court has imposed a ban on the 2000 cc and above displacing diesel engines, and being capacitated with a 1500 cc engine the Ciaz has garnered a good customer base in the region, the company reports most of the buyers are opting for petrol variants.

On the design front the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz features a suave appearance with sharp headlamps, chrome embellished slated grille, Horizontally slated air intake, neatly positioned fog lamps, side turning indicator integrated wing mirrors, alloy wheels, nicely curved rooflines and sharp taillamps at exterior, while the interior also looks premium with the upmarket features and upholsteries.
