Maruti S-cross Sales Surpass Ecosport, Duster and Terrano Consecutively for Second Month

Consecutively for the second month, Maruti S-cross sales beats the Duster, Ecosport and Terrano. Hyundai Creta leads the chart

Launched in India couple of months ago with the two diesel options, Maruti Suzuki S-cross is the first car offered by Maruti Suzuki with the bigger 1.6-Litre DDis engine compared to the 1.3 DDis.

However, the pricing of 1.6 variant is a bit concern among the buyers as Maruti is charging the premium of Rs.3 Lakhs for the extra 350cc, 30PS and 120NM of torque. However, recent news claims that dealers offers a good discount upto 1 Lakh on 1.6 variant.

These days, Hyundai Creta is most seen on the roads in India due to its SUV like stance and Korean design and, is now the India’s most selling SUV with over 7300+ units monthly since its launch.Top selling SUV 2015

However, Maruti S-cross isn’t far behind on the roads. The 1.3-litre diesel engine is priced very well to keep in the mind the masses. With the starting price of Rs.8.3 Lakhs Ex-showroom, it is giving the very strong competition to the already settled American, French and Japanese cars like Ecosport, Duster & Terrano.

In the Initial month, Maruti Suzuki’s Nexa retailed 4,602 units of S-cross compared to 3137 units of Ecosport, 1,109 units of Duster and 497 units of Terrano. In September, while the sales of S-cross fell, but still it remains on the no.2 position with over 3,603 units sold compared to 3,142 units of Ecosport, 1009 unit of Duster and 533 units of Terrano.

One fact very less people know’s that Maruti Suzuki S-cross is India’s Most Selling Car from a single dealership (3500+ units from 70 dealerships), every Nexa Dealership retails approx 50+ S-cross every month compared to 20 units of Alto, 19 units of Swift and similar no. of Dzire from the existing Maruti showroom across the India.

As of now, Nexa Dealership is available only in 32 cities compared to 1097 cities, where Maruti’s normal dealership is available. The sales number will likely rise with every new Nexa dealership Maruti will open in new city.

A 1.4 litre K-Series petrol engine also required to be introduced soon as there is still many peoples who prefer the silent petrol motor over diesel, and lets not forget, A expected price difference of Rs.80,000 from diesel will take the initial prices of S-cross to 7.5 Lakhs tag.
