India Bound Skoda Kodiaq Teased In New Video

Skoda Kodiaq teased in video ahead of global debut in Berlin on 1st September; going to be the flagship SUV of the Czech automaker

Skoda Kodiaq is the next big thing from the Czech auto manufacturer. The car has been already spied testing several times, in its camouflaged guise though. Now the Skoda has released the teaser video of the upcoming SUV. This video gives the first undisguised preview of the production spec Kodiaq.

The Skoda Kodiaq is going to be the flagship SUV of the automaker once it gets launched. The car has been designed following the Skoda Vision S concept, which was unveiled at 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The video shows, that the production spec model bears identical design with the concept. The styling has been inspired by the Bohemian glass crystals.

The front fascia looks very aggressive with the vertically slated butterfly pattern radiator grille with loads of chrome embellishment. The grille gets the similar angular design which is available in the new Octavia and Superb as well. The Kodiaq sports sharply designed headlamp clusters which get bi-xenon units with LED daytime running lights.

Just below the headlamps the sharp fog lamps sit at both sides of the front bumper. The bumper looks massive with the wide and aggressive air intake. The hood gets sharp creases running toward the nose, enhancing the masculine appeal. The side profile bears sharp character lines, chrome trim around the glass area. Also the sporty and bold alloy wheels and roof rails gives the car appealing look. The rear features LED taillamps.

The interior of the car offers premium comfort to the occupants. The six seater SUV from the auto major will get multifunction steering wheel, a stylish large touchscreen infotainment system up front. Interestingly, Skoda is expected to offer individual touchscreen infotainment system for all the occupants inside Kodiaq. In terms of space the car is quite spacious and comfortable.

On the powertrain front the Kodiaq gets three turbocharged TSI petrol engines and two TDI diesel engines. The India spec model is expected to get only the 1.8 litre TSI petrol and 2.0 litre TDI diesel engine options. Transmission options include 5 speed manual, 6 speed manual and a 7 speed DSG automatic gearbox as well. The top end trim of the car will get All Wheel Drive (AWD), which has been featured in the teaser video as well.
