India Bound 2017 Nissan Micra Spotted on Test

Nissan is testing an all new Micra, the small cute looking compact hatchback. The photographs of the 2017 Nissan Micra getting tested on roads surfaced on internet. The new Micra looks completely revamped than the outbound one. Although the test mule of Nissan Micra spotted was heavily camouflaged, but as it seems, it will adorn a much better and appealing exterior design, and radically different looking than the outbound model.

The front fascia seems to come very aggressive with sleek headlamps, which might get LED daytime running lights, heavily redesigned front grille. The fog lamps might come in a redesigned form as well. The car would get sharper character lines making it aerodynamically more efficient. It would get a sloping roofline toward the rear, a roof mounted rear spoiler, bold looking wheels.

The 2017 Nissan Micra would be based on the Nissan-Renault CMF platform. In India Nissan might offer the next generation Micra on the V platform, which the present outbound Micra is based on, although it will get a bit of modification. In Europe the new generation Micra might get a 0.9 litre TCe turbocharged petrol unit under the hood, which will get both manual and automatic transmission as option. It will be rivaling against the India made Maruti-Suzuki Baleno.

In India Nissan Micra is available in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol engine comes in form of a 1.2 litre DOHC 12 valve 3 cylinder engine producing 76 PS peak power, while the diesel variant gets a 1.5 litre SOHC 8 valve 4 cylinder engine pumping out 64 PS peak power.

Transmission duty is done by a five speed manual gear box. Last year Nissan also launched Micra X-shift, which gets a five speed CVT gearbox. Price for Micra ranges between Rs. 5.9 lakh to Rs. 7.7 lakh.
