The 2018 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport will come with a new 181 hp producing 2.4-litre MIVEC diesel motor used in foreign markets
The 37th edition of the Bangkok Motor Show saw Mitsubishi showcasing the all-new Pajero Sport premium SUV bound for India and is now reported to be sold as 2018 model when it is up for grabs next April. The new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport has been made available in three variants for the Thailand market namely the base GTS LTD, middle GT and the range-topping GT Premium. The top-spec GT Premium trim comes with the Super Select 4WD-II all-wheel drive system and is the only trim to do so.
The top-end model could be the only one offered in India at price of around Rs. 28 lakh (ex-showroom) reportedly. The new 2.4-litre MIVEC diesel motor is capable of developing a maximum power output of 181 horsepower and 430 Nm of peak torque. The only engine being offered is a turbocharged unit and gets coupled with an all-new eight-speed automatic transmission sending power to only the front wheels in the GTS LTD and GT variants.
The premium features offered in the upcoming Mitsubishi Pajero Sport are a beefier set of 18-inch double-tone alloy wheels, seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation function, cruise control, reverse parking camera, premium interiors, gear change through flappy paddle shifters and so on.
The new Pajero Sport premium SUV comes adorned with Bi LED head lights with Spectrum LED Daytime Running Lights swept-back till the flared up front fenders. It boasts an aggressive front fascia with the horizontally slated grille merging into the head lamp cluster while housing the Mitsubishi emblem in the middle. Majority of the front portion is occupied by the large radiator grille fitted just ahead of the prominent fog lamp cluster with skid plates for underbody protection.
The side profile gets black body cladding running from the fenders to the rear covering the lower portion and the Spectrum LED tail lamps has elongated C shaped design. Packed with technologies, the new Pajero Sport comprises of Ultrasonic Mis-acceleration Mitigation System, Hill Descent Control, Forward Collision Mitigation, Blind Spot Warning and so on.
