Hyundai Creta S+ Diesel automatic transmission will enhance the reach to the AT variant, could add more numbers in monthly sales

Hyundai has introduced automatic gearbox to the mid level trim S+. The car comes with a price tag of Rs. 13.56 lakhs (ex showroom, Delhi). It is priced more than Rs. 1 lakh lower than the Creta SX+ automatic variant. Hyundai India’s website showcased the Creta S+ AT without any price till recently, after unveiling two months ago. No wonder, adding an automatic transmission to the lower diesel variant will enhance the reach to the AT variant of the SUV.

Now the pricing of the S+ AT’s have been revealed, and the car is available for booking in several metro cities across the country. It gets around two months of waiting period. The car is available at ex showroom prices of Rs. 13.99 lakhs (Kolkata), Rs. 14.27 lakhs (Mumbai), Rs. 13.78 lakhs (Chennai), and Rs. 13.76 lakhs (Bengaluru). The Creta S+ AT is directly positioned against the rival Renault Duster AMT variant, priced at Rs. 13.13 lakhs (ex showroom, Delhi).

The Creta has been very popular in India since it has launched last year. It has become one of the most popular and best selling compact SUV in Indian market. The Creta S+ AT gets power from a 1.6 litre four cylinder U2 VGT CRDi DOHC diesel engine.

The turbocharged engine is paired with a 6 sped automatic gearbox, and churns out 126 bhp of peak power at 4000 rpm and 265 Nm of peak torque at 1900 rpm. Power is sent to the front wheels.

The Creta gets sharp headlamps with projector lamps, LED daytime running lights, hexagonal chrome garnished front grille with horizontal slats. Among the other exterior features the car sports alloy wheels, sporty roof rails, large wrap around tail lamps, roof spoiler etc.

Inside the cabin the S+ AT trim loses out some features compare to the top end SX+ trim. The new car comes sans the cruise control, touchscreen infotainment system, leather wrapped seats and voice control navigation system also.
