Hyundai Creta price hike likely by Rs. 15,000; the SUV celebrated first year with the ‘1st Anniversary Edition’ recently

Hyundai Creta is one of the most popular and best selling compact SUV in Indian market. The rugged looking car was launched last year in July. Few days ago the South Korean automaker launched a limited edition Hyundai Creta 1st Anniversary Edition in the country. Now the company is all set to slap a Rs. 15,000 price hike to the Creta. The new pricing will be effective from September.

The price hike will be applied to all the variants of the Creta. In that case, the Creta will be priced between Rs. 9.31 lakh to Rs. 14.65 lakh (ex showroom, Delhi). Presently the car is priced between Rs. 9.16 lakh to Rs. 14.50 lakh (ex showroom, Delhi). Earlier this year also, Hyundai hiked the price of the Creta back to back twice. While one hike was due to the increase in the production cost, the later was due to the new cess imposed by the union budget.

Hyundai Motor India has already informed the dealers across the country about the price hike. The automaker has also asked the dealers to place orders for the car in advance to avoid higher price. The Creta presently comes as a very popular model in the country. It is to be seen, whether the third price hike in the same year affects the sales of the model or not.

Hyundai Creta is available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variants get a 1.4 litre engine and a 1.6 litre engine options. The diesel variants also come available in 1.4 litre and a 1.6 litre engine options.

While the standard Creta will get the increased price tag in September, customers can avail the limited edition model from next month onwards. The 1st Anniversary Edition Creta comes with some cosmetic updates at exterior and inside the cabin.
