Honda Amaze was first launched in the country in April, 2013 as first Honda with diesel engine in India

Honda amaze is one of the most popular compact sedans in Indian market, which directly takes on the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Hyundai Xcent, and Ford Figo Aspire. The compact sedan from Honda Car India was first launched in the country in April, 2013 and within around three years the car has driven past the 2 lakh sales mark in the country.

The Amaze marked the Honda Car India’s entry in the diesel segment in the Indian market, as this was the first model from the Japanese automaker available in both the petrol and diesel engine options. Earlier this year in March, Honda launched a facelift version of the Amaze, which looks aggressive and bold compare to the previous model.

The facelift amaze came sporting new design at exterior, more features inside the cabin, the engine options remain same although. At exterior the car received a bold design front bumper and dual chrome slatted front grille, while the rear profile received combination taillights.

The interior of the facelift Honda Amaze sports fresh new design, dual tone cockpit styled instrument cluster which received silver accents. The interior looks upmarket with 3D speedometer and Multi Information Display (MID), while the seat fabric is also very upmarket. Additionally on the mechanical front, the car has received Continuously Variable Transmission or CVT gearbox, which incidentally marks the Amaze as the first petrol powered compact sedan to come with a CVT gearbox.

Since the launch in April, 2013 the Honda Amaze has sold 203894 units in India, which include 95966 petrol and 107928 diesel units till April, 2016. In its early years the diesel powered amaze sold the most, while later the sales of the petrol powered Amaze also shot up. The Honda Amaze is available in four grades in both petrol and diesel engine options, which are E, S, SX and VX with manual gearbox as standard, while the newly introduced CVT gearbox is available in S and the VX petrol grades.

The facelift Honda Amaze comes available in 7 different colors options, which are – Bluish Titanium Metallic, Carnelian Red Pearl, Urban Titanium Metallic, Alabaster Silver Metallic, Golden Brown Metallic, Taffeta White and Orchid White Pearl.
