Ford EcoSport gets dual front airbags as standard; the American company has sold 4,885 units of the subcompact SUV in July 2016
Ford EcoSport is one of the most popular utility vehicle in India. The car has seen tough competition from the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. To tackle the competition Ford even slashed the pricing of the EcoSport by Rs. 1.12 lakh. In July sales chart the EcoSport has showed improvement though. Now the automaker is trying to boost the sales more. The American automaker now offers dual front airbags in the EcoSport as standard safety feature.
Ford Motors has come up with new commercial to showcase the new safety feature. The EcoSport gets a total of six airbags for all the occupants in the top end trim. It also features ABS and EBD, enhancing the safety measures. The auto manufacturer might offer the ABS as standard across the trims in EcoSport in near future. Interestingly the EcoSport is the only model available from the brand in India with dual front airbags as standard.

Indian government is about to implement a new safety norm in 2017. Therefore Ford EcoSport’s new updates come quite significant. The Ford EcoSport comes with a muscular design, the car gets a hexagonal front grille with chrome embellishment.
The front fascia features sharp and sleek headlamps. The car gets thick side body cladding, wrap around taillamps, integrated roof spoiler.

The EcoSport gets power from two different petrol engines and a single diesel engine options. The petrol engines include a 1.5 litre unit and a 1.0 litre Ecoboost unit, churning out 108 bhp and 121 bhp of peak power respectively. The diesel engine is a 1.5 litre unit which kicks out 97 bhp of peak power and 205 Nm of peak torque. The Ford EcoSport comes with price tags ranging between Rs. 6.76 lakh to Rs. 9.93 lakh (ex showroom, Delhi). A facelift version of the EcoSport is expected to launch in India soon.
