Upcoming Honda 125cc bike will get all new styling and heavily revised mechanicals, coming this year

Recently we bought you spyshots of a heavily camouflaged 125cc motorcycle that was spotted testing. However, now our reader Ritesh has sent us un-camouflaged spy shots of the upcoming Honda 125cc bike from Honda. The upcoming Honda 125cc bike is likely to co-exist with the CB Shine. Honda has only one 125cc bike in its stable as of now and despite it is the worlds largest selling 125cc, it wants to continue with the dominance for a long time as competition is getting stiff from Yamaha and Bajaj at present. Suzuki will join the bandwagon sooner or later and Hero’s 125cc motorcycle though good but surely need massive upgrades to keep it going.

This upcoming Honda 125cc bike is likely to get revised mechanicals. We expect a lighter chassis and overall kerb weight with revised suspension and brakes. The upcoming Honda 125cc bike will get new tubular swingarm, smaller wheelbase and longer seats. The engine will be given the HET treatment and should deliver slightly more (3-4 km/l) mileage than before. However, the Upcoming Honda 125cc bike talking point is it all new styling which is finally revealed and shows a lot of new panels and parts.

The tank is larger, the headlight cowl as discussed previously is similar to the Hero Hunk. The side panels now are very Bajaj Esque. The bike gets very sharp-looking tail-piece, new set of tail-lights and an edgy looking grab handle for the pillion. The bike also gets reflectors mounted on top of the front forks which is never seen on previous Honda’s commuters. Exhaust comes from the all new Honda Livo. Alloy wheels are Hero Esque.

Rest of the cycle parts are seen on other Honda bikes of the past. Expect pricing to be on the higher side and to compete against the premium 125cc bikes out there from the competition such as Bajaj Discover 125M and Yamaha SS 125. Pricing should be in the ball park of around Rs. 60-63,000/- and given CB Shine’s reputation, this could be the real ‘blockbuster’ Honda has been waiting for. However, do you know the real cool part of these pictures? The rider is wearing an helmet which is pricier than the motorcycle. Kudos Honda! Safety first!
