BMW Launches M6 Coupe Celebration Edition in the Japanese Market

The Celebration Edition M6 Coupe churns out 40 hp more power

As part of its 100 year celebration German luxury automaker BMW has launched a special edition of M6 Coupe christened as M6 Coupe Celebration Edition. The special edition will be sold exclusively in the Japanese market with only 13 units to be built.

The BMW M6 Celebration Edition comes with additional carbon fibre reinforced plastic rear spoiler and rear diffuser, which makes it sportier and aggressive as well. To make the M6 Celebration Edition more special, BMW has painted the car’s signature BMW kidney grille at the front in glossy Black which houses an M6 Competition logo as well. The front spoiler lip, side mirrors and roof are also painted in Black.

The car sports 20 inch lightweight alloy wheels from the BMW’s sports oriented M range, which is also painted in Black. The car runs on 265/35R20 front tyres and 295/30R20 rear tyres. Inside the cabin of BMW M6 Coupe Celebration Edition the special features include a carbon fibre gear lever, carbon fibre trims at different places. The Merino Black leather upholstery has been stitched in contrasting yellow. The 1200 watt music system is developed by Bang & Olufsen and it features a 16 speaker set up. The door sills and electrically adjustable front seats sport the ‘M6 Competition’ badge.

Power source for the BMW M6 Celebration Edition is a 4.4 litre biturbo V8 engine which is mated to a 7 speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. The engine has been re-tuned to churn out 600 hp of peak power in place of 560 hp and 700 Nm of peak torque instead of 680 Nm. The BMW M5 ‘30 Jahre M5’ edition also produces the same power and torque output. The BMW M6 special edition accelerates to 100 kmph from standstill in 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 305 kmph. The sporty performance is the result of M driver’s Package. The braking duty is done by M Carbon ceramic brakes, which come as standard.

Pricing for the BMW M6 Celebration Edition is 23210000 Yen. This car will sold in Japan only with 13 units to be built and all the 13 units will come featuring a left hand drive configuration. All the cars will come painted in Austin Yellow only.
