Benelli Tornado 302 Spied in India for First Time

The Benelli Tornado 302 fully-fared model based on the TNT 300 is expected to launch during this festive season

DSK Benelli is preparing to launch the Benelli Tornado 302 in India soon. And ahead of the launch, the bike has been spied in the country for the first time. Expect the model to launch sometime during this festive season. The Benelli Tornado 302 is a fully faired model, based on the TNT300, which is on sale in the country already.

The Benelli Tornado comes built on the steel trellis frame shared with the TNT300. The heavy fairing definitely gives the bike a stylish and sporty guise. It features sharp headlamps, muscular fuel tank and front fairing. The tail section gets gently narrowed, while the unique looking exhaust muzzle definitely adds on zing to the Tornado 302. Dimensionally, the Benelli Tornado 302 measures 2,157 mm in length, 746 mm in width, 1,146 mm in height and a wheelbase of 1,410 mm. It also sports a ground clearance of 180 mm.

On the powertrain front also, the Benelli Tornado 302 gets power from the same 300cc in-line twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine like the Benelli TNT300. This engine churns out 27 bhp of peak power at 11,500 RPM and 26.5 NM of peak torque at 10,000 RPM in the TNT300. The Tornado 302 comes with higher power and torque output though. It kicks out 34 bhp of peak power at 12,000 RPM and 27 NM of peak torque at 9,000 RPM. A 6-speed transmission does the transmission duty in the model.

On the braking front the Benelli Tornado is equipped with 260 mm twin discs at the front wheel and rear wheel gets a single disc. Along with the disc brakes the bike gets ABS doing the braking duty efficiently. On the suspension front the Benelli Tornado 302 sports 41 mm inverted telescopic fork with 120 mm travel, and monoshock with 45 mm travel at rear.

Earlier this year the bike was showcased at the 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo. Once launched, it will take on the rivals like Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the Yamaha R3. Expect the Benelli Tornado 302 to get a price tag of around Rs. 3.5 lakhs.
