Ashok Leyland bags order for 3600 buses; to execute production in the current fiscal

Ashok Leyland declared that the company has bagged orders for nearly 3600 buses from a number of STUs that it has to deliver in the current fiscal. This order will help better position Ashok Leyland among bus manufacturers. Domestic share of the trucks by Ashok Leyland have increased from 29.2% in Q1 2015 to 30.1% in Q1 2016.

The Market share for buses has seen an increase as well from 33.2% in Q1 2015 to 35.9% in Q1 2016. Overall as well, volumes of M&HCV by Ashok Leyland have seen a rise by 18.6% when compared to the 14.5% industry growth.

Talking on the subject, Mr.Vinod K Dasari, the MD of Ashok Leyland said that the company will maintain growth in the domestic M&HCV market. He also added that the industry should see a 15% to 20% growth in the current financial year.

He further stated that the company will continue to maintain its lead by expanding their network and launching newer products as well as introducing customer centric initiatives. The focus of Ashok Leyland will be on exports, defence and after-market.
