In the midsize sedan space, where Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz are at, Hyundai is likely to launch the new-gen Verna next year but before that the second largest automaker in the country will be aiming to strengthen its position in the slightly upper side of the market with the sixth generation of the global bestseller, Elantra.

Lauded as the ‘Best Elantra Ever Made’ by Hyundai, it has been quite a hit in the home market of Korea ever since the launch last October with over 15,000 units retailed and Hyundai has set a target of selling 1,10,000 units initially per year. Extensively being shipped to foreign markets, about 5,90,000 units of the 2016 Hyundai Elantra is expected to reach customers in its first full year.
